Project Details:

The ruins of Quarr Abbey can be found in an area abundant in natural beauty, the estate has several conservation designations to help protect the local environment, these include Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC), Scheduled Ancient Monuments (SAM), Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a wetland designation (RAMSAR).

The project included the restoration of a Scheduled Ancient Monument; structural stabilisation to the Grade I listed Abbey Church and the complete renovation and refurbishment of listed derelict buildings into a new Visitor Centre. The works also included Landscape analysis and plan, improved access and parking facilities and full reinterpretation and display of the site to the public.
